September 12 - Woodstock - New Brunswick's First Town
We enjoyed the day very much, went golfing in the morning, yes, both of us...we had lunch at a Pub on the Water not far from our RV Site.  We toured around and looked at some of the beautiful old homes, mostly from the 17th and 18th Century I would think.  Some have had additions added, some very well and some not so good.  There are quite a few that have been turned into Bed and Breakfast places.  We were wondering about the up-keep, quite costly I would imagine.  Some of the homes lack paint but for the most part they are in pretty good shape.
this is one of the smaller ones

Woodstock, New Brunswick's first Town

September 13 - Heartland
This is the place with the longest covered bridge in the world.  It looks good but not very functional, they are building a huge bridge down the river for actual use.  Houses here are also very big and old.  They have a beautiful 18 hole Golf Course which we couldn't play because they were having a tournament today.  Just to make Dalton suffer, we had lunch there and got to see a bunch of drunk golfers try to make a hole in one to win a car.  Of all the golfers we watched, only one even got close.  I think I could have done better, well maybe.

Looking down on the Covered Bridge, can't really see it too well

This is the side from Heatland

I think it said 1282 ft.

One of the houses in Heartland, they are a bit nicer

Really big house

Downtown Heartland
We stopped at the Information Centre in Heartland and would you believe, they have chocolate coated potato chips, had to buy some just to see what they were like.  Not great!

Gas prices went up 7 cents a litre here, now 140.9, glad we are not in Montreal it went up 17 cents which puts it at 153.9, I guess we won't be going there.

On the drive home from Heartland Dalton went to see a Chiropractor so, hopefully, his back will start to feel better.  Must be hell having to do so much driving when your back hurts.  OK, this is the last time I will feel sorry for him.  Well, maybe until the next time.

  1. When we were talking about New Brunswick last night, the covered bridge was the only thing Bill remembered about the Province besides St. John.
